Structural Red Flags

What Building Control May Ask For
Building Control may require project-specific structural calculations and details showing compliance with Part A (Structure) of the Building Regs, and will usually want the load followed down to the ground. My beam calculations cover the beam, its bearings and padstones; if the wall below or the foundation also needs checking, I will tell you and confirm the fee before starting. A beam sized from an online table is not usually accepted as evidence of compliance.
